Mike Miska

Michael S. Miska joined The Wolk Law Firm as an associate in its litigation team in 2010. Mike began his career with The Wolk Law Firm in 2008 as a law clerk eager to get his feet wet in the field of aviation litigation.

During his tenure as a law clerk, Mike was involved in every aspect of aviation litigation from the preliminary investigation through to trial. Mike has had hands on experience in every trial The Wolk Law Firm has had since he started.

He researched and drafted pre-trial motions, successfully defeated Daubert challenges to Plaintiffs’ experts, and organized a number of demonstrative exhibits, including animations, models, and exemplar mock-ups.

As an associate, Mike has continued to contribute to the Firm’s endeavors as an enthusiastic and dedicated member of its trial team, while also educating himself on the complex legal issues which are common in aviation litigation. Mike continues to develop his love of flying and keeps himself updated on the latest developments in the aviation and aviation safety. His vast understanding of the industry has allowed him to apply his knowledge to develop the complex legal and technical cases he oversees.

In addition to his legal interest in the field of aviation litigation, Mike also holds a private pilot certificate. He earned his instrument rating prior to entering law school, and continued his passion for flight during law school, most recently earning his multiengine rating following graduation. He and his entire family are avid pilots and aviation enthusiasts and plane owners, having owned several single and multi-engine aircraft. Mike is able to combine his flight experience with his legal education to aid him in his efforts with The Wolk Law Firm. His continuing experience and interest in General Aviation, aircraft ownership, and aircraft maintenance gives him knowledge essential to tackle the unique and complex issues he faces as a member of The Wolk Law Firm.

Mike’s academic achievements include graduating from Villanova School of Law Cum Laude in 2010 and having the pleasure of being a member of Villanova’s Moot Court Board. Prior to law school, Mike attended American University in Washington, DC, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude from its Kogod School of Business. Mike is also a member of the Lawyer Pilot’s Bar Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and has participated as a Mentor to prospective new pilots with AOPA Flight Training’s Project Pilot.

Mike is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
